Specialized Aethos First Ride Review
The Specialized S-Works Aethos isn't a race bike...or is it?
Well, it certainly could find itself right at home in a race, but Specialized says it developed this bike for the performance rider - the kind that likes all-day epics, KOM hunts, and conquering the big climbs. It's the lightest disc-equipped bike on the market, yet it feels shockingly stiff, lithe, and responsive.
What's not to love?
Aside from the price tag, not much.

Canyon Aeroad CFR redefines aero bikes with adjustable-width handlebars
Переглядів 65 тис.3 роки тому
Canyon’s brand new Aeroad CFR is an aero road race bike like no other - its integrated bar/stem module unbolts on either side for up to 40mm in width adjustment. The new iteration of the Aeroad also got a complete overhaul of the frame design to shave off a few grams of both weight and aero drag. Canyon claims that the new Aeroad CFR, which you may have seen being raced in the Tour de France th...
What’s faster up 14,000 feet? light wheels or deeper aero wheels?
Переглядів 35 тис.3 роки тому
As cyclists, we know that deep aero wheels are usually faster than lighter, shallower wheels when riding on flat roads. And we know that when climbing very steep roads, lighter wheels will be faster than deeper wheels. But what about conditions that are in between? At what point do aerodynamics, er, outweigh the benefits of slightly less weight? In this episode of Project 14er, presented by Cad...

The aero Venge fuses into the S-Works Tarmac race machine with exceptional ride qualities, aero performance, and a price tag to match. With the S-Works Tarmac SL7, Specialized has managed to deliver all the things a bike racer would want - theoretical and practical - into one fast, lightweight, and comfortable bike. And holy cow, is it expensive. Check out this review from Ben Delaney on the ro...

Introducing Project 14er: Climbing Mt Evans - twice
Переглядів 3,2 тис.4 роки тому
Project 14er is a new challenge from VeloNews where you climb 14,000 feet in one ride. Why 14,000 feet? Well, Everesting is now officially a thing in cycling, where riders climb 29,000ft in one go, but that's crazy. Of those who have finished, none want to do it again. We wanted a challenge that is a stretch goal, but one that is attainable, and one that is fun! VeloNews is based in Colorado, h...
2021 Specialized Diverge Pro Carbon review

StagesBike SB20 smart bike review
Переглядів 39 тис.4 роки тому
Smart bikes combine the interactivity of a smart trainer with the convenience and durability of an indoor bike. With the StagesBike SB20, Stages Cycling joins a small list of companies making such a machine, and it offers best-in-class stability and ease of use, with ride feel and interactivity close behind. Like smart bikes from WattBike, Tacx, and Wahoo, the StagesBike works on ANT and Blueto...
3T Strada Due: A yearlong review over Belgian cobbles, Italian gravel and Colorado dirt.
Переглядів 25 тис.4 роки тому
Road racing and gravel are colliding, and the 3T Strada Due suits the racer with a broad definition of ‘road’. Ben Delaney enjoyed piloting this aero-meets-wide bike in Colorado and Belgium and Italy over the past 12 months, from riding the actual cobbled Koppenberg in the Flanders sportive to racing Colorado’s dirt Koppenberg, a favorite local event. He raced it in criteriums and brought it al...
Elite Nero Smart Rollers Review
Переглядів 46 тис.4 роки тому
Looking for a dynamic way to train indoors? If you love rollers and like the idea of interactive resistance, the Elite Nero is a great option. It's as expensive as a good smart trainer, but it offers a unique way to interact with software like Zwift, TrainerRoad or FulGaz. In addition to offering the normal agility of riding on rollers, the Nero also has some fore/aft movement, thanks to wheels...

Panda POV: Racing The Mid South

The 2020 edition of The Mid South gravel race was held in challenging conditions, as wet skies turned the 104-mile course to deep mud, and the rapidly spreading coronavirus upended people's lives. Amanda 'The Panda' Nauman (SDG-Monster Energy), the 2018 winner of the race, was back to contest for the win. Follow along on her journey as she gets into Stillwater, Oklahoma a few days early to pre-...

Wahoo Kickr Bike review

The Wahoo Kickr Bike wasn't the first smart bike on the market, but it is the most unique, offering integrated elevation adjustments, best-in-class shifters and reliable power measurement. Great video. Would have been good to have some information about where to stay. The Cycling in Flanders website has a list of hotels & bicycle rental locations in the area. The Flandrien Hotel is located between Oudenaarde and Geraardsbergen and is an excellent choice for those taking on the Flandrien Challenge.

my legs dont rub at the frame but i find the handlebar top grip position not very comfortable. its just very hard plastic there. maybe my seat position is not the best.... i feel quite a lot of pressure in my hands when holding there. should i move the handlebar more towards me?

This is my first road ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and I have taken it out a handful of times and so far it is exceeding all of my expectations. I didn’t want to break the bank on a first bike and the herd is a great option for getting a fast bike with reliable components. I plan on riding this bike for many years to come. Thank you Sava!

We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.

The issue I've encountered with the CG-R seatpost is the elastomer dries out, creaks, and starts falling off. I actually thought it was my PF bottom bracket! Swapped that out for the Wheels Mfg angular contact threaded replacement, which I highly recommend, but someday Specialized might wake up and go T47.

Seat clamp on the Strada was the biggest weakness , well known to vroom and all at 3T. . It’s essentially a piece of crap that should never have been released, continually tilts down... The bike itself is pretty cool though
